My Dear Deer Friends

Oh, dear me...look at that dear deer
in our Grass Valley backyard!
This is Bella.

And, I named this gal Alice.

The two gals.
Bella is eating but soon Alice will be out hunting.

Bella, Alice and and Bella's Mommy Rene.

We have lots of deer in our area in Grass Valley.
They usually wander through our yard both
morning and late afternoon.
Lot of fun!

The guys, Edward and Jacob, hanging out
watching the gals.
Love those antlers!

If you are interested, the deer in our
area are "Mule Deer."

Off to read BREAKING DAWN

Outside the Kitchen Window

I love watching the sweet little birds
in our Grass Valley backyard.
These two photos were taken
looking out our kitchen window.
The little finches are my favorites!
I am amazed at how much suet the birds
are eating this time of year.
I have also put some wool in the suet basket.

I think this is a Woodpecker.
Can you see the birdhouse in the background?

The birds have been enjoying this new type of cylinder bird feeder. I have this one hanging in the front yard so we can see it from the living room. So much fun!

The sun is out. The sky is blue
What a lovely day.

Thanksgiving Family Road Trip

Rocky is checking out the map for our road trip.
He does not want to get lost.
My Guy, Rocky and I are traveling from
the big city of San Francisco
to the country town of Grass Valley
for our Family Thanksgiving celebration.
I think he is planning to do a
little "back seat driving" from his cage.

Serious stuff!

Do you think he knows that the map is
upside down???

Goodies from SCRAP

~Rocky has some good stuff to show you~
I hope that every city has a warehouse like SCRAP

aka Scrounger's Center for Reusable Art Parts. So, now that you have clicked on the link and read about

this wonderful place, you can understand my love for going there.

And, going there often since there is

new stuff coming in every day.
Also, if I see something I like, I buy it since

it most likely will not be there the next day!!!

It is located only about ten short minutes
away from our flat. Oh my!

I did not buy fabric this time,
but they have tons of every type of fabric....
oh, and yarns~tons...
art supplies~tons...
funky jewlery~tons...
office supplies~tons...
holiday decor~tons...

OK, OK...I'll stop!

Whatever you want, they most likely will have it!!!

Another fun part of going there is chatting with
the other customers and checking out with they are
buying and what they will do with it.

The best part is when you go to the cashier
to purchase your goodies and you are told,
"Let's see that is $3.00." And, that my friends is for
a large grocery bag full of treasures.

Now, I know this is my second blog post on SCRAP but
I couldn't stop myself. It is the greatest place!

BARGIN SHOPPING IS THE BEST.

I love Autumn and all the Thankfullness it brings!Sweetness of Fall.

More sweet Fall decor.

This bench was hand-crafted by a friend of My Guy.

I love the color of this candle!

This is the cozy chair I sit in while knitting
or reading or watching TV.
The heat from the gas fireplace
feels so good on my neck!
This is the corner office area with the computer
where I do my blogging! Fun...

My Dogwood Painting

You all already know how much I love Dogwood trees
especially those with pink blossoms.
Here is my creative attempt at a
branch with pink dogwood blossoms.
The canvas is teeny-tiny.
It is only 3" X 3".
I had lots of fun painting this
and wanted to share it with you!
Have a wonderful and happy fall weekend.

Rocky the Funny Cat

Does your cat do this?
I was folding clothes and guess who
jumped in the laundry basket
and made himself very cozy!
The funny thing was that when Rocky
jumped in the basket it tipped sideways.
He looked a little scared
and then acted like he did that on purpose!

Love my Rockstar!

Escape Artist

How did we know he was planning his escape route.
Doesn't he know he is an inside cat.

Does this sweet orange tabby cat
really look like he would escape
out of the house given the chance??
If you answered yes, then you are correct!

Rocky is getting a closer look at his planned escape.

Last night I opened the back door to see if it was raining.
No rain so I closed the door.
Little did I know that Rocky had scooted out
the door without me seeing him!

My Guy and I hadn't seen Rocky for a while
but we were not worried as we just thought
he was doing his cat thing...hiding and sleeping.

Time to go to bed and no Rocky. Panic!
We went outside and called his name and he came running.
It would have been fun to see where he went and what he did!

Everytime we open the back door now, he comes running.
My guess is that he had a fun time outside last night.

Tonight Rocky is cozy inside happily dreaming
of his outside adventure last night.
Isn't he just the cutest. We love him lots.

Meow...meow.

Sock It To Me!

It is getting colder each day.
So I say, "Sock it to me!"
I love my socks!
My little Cat Christmas Socks.

My Little Tree Socks.

Sweet Pink Kitty Socks.
Sometimes I like to mix my socks up
and wear one from one pair and one from another.
It is fun to be mixed up some days?

Everyone needs a warm pair of rag wool socks.

My Guy bought these for me in Yosemite.

Love these snowflake and stripeped socks

These are my absolute favorite.
They go with everything!

Don't you just love the colors
in these socks!

Rocky loves his Cat Socks.

The Rockstars feet were cold this morning.

Do you know about Smart Wool Socks?
They are the best.
A little on the pricey side but so warm.
They have a little wool, but not at all scratchy.

Does you sock drawer look like this?

Or... this? Be honest.

A hand-knit scarf and socks tied together
with a ribbon makes a really nice gift.
My "BFF Stacy" has been knitting slippers.
They look very cozy for winter.
Check out her blog Golden Bird Knits to see her slippers.
Wishing you a "Sock It To Me" day.
