Friends kept telling me about this wonderful non-profit warehouse store that sells donated "scrap" items. The name of the store is SCRAP which is an acronym for Scroungers Center for Reusable Art Parts. I went there yesterday. It is only minutes from our San Francisco flat. This could be very dangerous. After two hours of snooping around, I was dizzy with all kinds of crafting ideas. The displays are casual with boxes of varies related items.
The website is: http://www.scrap-sf.org/
I could not resist the bag of lamb's wool. Maybe I will learn how to card and spin wool. Or, maybe the wool will be put out for the birds to line their winter nests.
The yarn will be knit into scarves for donation.

Some fun paper.
A little of this and a little of that and some more that!
I could not resist the lovely bird postcard. SCRAP receives lots of great paper scraps from printers and frame shops.
One can never have too many buttons. Not sure yet what I will do with the "As Advertised" tags but us crafters are cleaver little beings.
I wore the butterfly pin today to a very important meeting. None of the ladies said anything about my pin but I am sure they are all out shopping tonight for their own butterfly pin!
This is the pile of my loot. I am embarrassed to tell you how "little" all this cost. I hope all of you have this type of "reusable art parts" store in your area. If not, San Francisco is a great place for a vacation!
Wishing all a happy and fun-filled weekend. Dogwood

Wow, Cory, you got such great stuff! I have to admit I am sitting here seething with jealousy. The paper scraps look fantastic. What a great place! It must have been sooo overwhelming (and soooo fun).
MY kind of fun day! I don't know of any store like that but you bet I am gonna look:) Great stuff! Have a blessed day!
Hi Dogwood, thanks again for popping in at my spot and for your kind words of symphathy, that meant alot on this chilly and very rainy day where we're missing our Haz even more cause we know she loved rainy days and stretching out on her window bench to nap and watch the rain....Looks like that was a pretty good haul and the low price makes it even lovelier, ha ha...Be Well Dogwood be well.
Oh my goodness - I am so envious. You found amazing treasures on your outing! I can't imagine how you managed to get out of there without a bigger haul - perhaps you had to walk home and couldn't carry too much? Or maybe you knew that it would be there next time you visited. I wonder if there's a similar place here... hmmm...
What amazing goodies - what a brilliant concept - hope it catches on here too!
OMG- they made a store just for you! What a great find! I can't wait to see what create with all that fun stuff.
Thanks for all you comments. SCRAPS is a wonderful concept! I hope to see shops like it opening all over the place. Being green and recycling is the way to go! I will be going there lots...fun, fun and more fun.
