During the summer when I was a child, I had fun staying with my grandparents who lived in a big old craftsman style house. In the backyard was the most precious, sweet, darling little garden shed with a pink rose bush that climbed up and over the roof. My grandmother~who we called Baba~adored my interest in gardening.
I enjoyed helping her in her garden, but most of all I just wanted to "hang out" in her garden shed.
Baba was such a sweet lady. And, I loved her so much. She treated me like a Princess. Most often I would find a stack of books placed out in the garden shed...just for me! She knew how much I loved sitting on the stool in the shed reading books.
Baking was Baba's second favorite thing to do. Gardening of course was number one. Another fond memory about my grandmother's garden shed was that she would hide a small tin (no plastic in those days) of cookies for me. Usually her hiding places were pretty obvious so I easily found my treat!
Oh, those sweet childhood memories of lazy summer days in Baba's garden shed. Hugs~Dogwood

Dogwood, that was the most beautiful post. Are those actual photos of your Baba's shed? It looks magical. No wonder you want a shed of your own in Grass Valley. How sweet your Baba was, leaving you books and tins of cookies. She not only treated you like a princess, but passed along the sense of kindness and thoughtfulness I have seen in you for so many years. Thanks for sharing such wonderful memories.
What sweet memories! I love the visions of that beautiful shed with the roses climbing up the sides. I felt like I was there with you, reading books and eating cookies.
What a wonderful walk down memory lane! I just loved it and felt like I was right there in that sweet garden shed too. Does that precious garden shed still exist? Loved this post!
