Fall Colors and Moss~Grass Valley California

Lovely Ponderosa Pine with its long needles.
The squirrels love eating the seeds
or "pinenuts" out of the pinecones.

Holly Bush with bright red
against the shiny green leaves .

This is our sweet two year old Dogwood tree.
Hoping for some of those lovely Pink Dogwood Blossoms
next Springtime.Plum tree to the left of the Dogwood.

Can you see the owl house in the Ponderose Pine
in the top left hand corner of this picture?

Mossy rock surrounded
by St. John's Wort.

This is our little Meditation Corner.

Other side of Meditation Corner.
The little rock bench was made by My Guy
with rocks from our yard. He also made the
holder for the latern. What a great guy!!

More of that lovely moss.

Loving the orange/rust leaves on
our young Persimmon Tree.

I just can't get enough of that moss that appears
after the first rains in the Fall. More St. John's Wort.
Love watching the birds use the bird bath
but kind of odd that after they take a bath
they are known to take a drink of the bath water!

I guess I am getting a little
obsessed with the moss.

Yellow leaves on the Redbud Tree.

This Liquid Amber get yellow leaves
in the Fall...never red.

Sweet little Nandina Bush also know as
Heavenly or Sacred Bamboo. Sweet!

Red Liquid Amber Tree in our front yard.
I am always so sad when the last
red leaves fall off this tree!
Hope you have enjoyed this little walk in our garden in Grass Valley. It was sprinkling lightly while I was taking these photos. Now, I am cozy inside with a fire going in our gas stove.

HAVE A FABULOUS EVENING!

Oh I did enjoy the tour! I love gardens...used to go to several garden walks a year. Your St. Johns wort doesn't look like the kind I know...your seems to be a ground cover...mine more of a bush.
I love your meditation garden space....nice that your guy can make such nice things happen...must be his Illinois blood
keep the pictures coming

Nice Fall colors! I love those shiny Holly Bush leaves. Your meditation space looks so serene. Any signs of owls yet? Looking forward to pics of the dogwood blossoms next spring (fingers crossed).

We had some light rain here yesterday and today, too. Have a great weekend in GV.
